A Prime Spot to Bet on Higher Scoring: Steelers @ Cowboys o44

Our computer simulation work calls for a combined score in the ballpark of 46-47 when the dust finally settles at AT&T Stadium Sunday. Given this indication, coupled with supportive signals from a couple of winning history-based systems, we are betting Steelers at Cowboys o44 in this week 9 clash between two teams trending in opposite directions.

Consistent with our prediction, historically, matchups featuring unfamiliar competitors and big spreads, while fairly rare, have proven solid spots to back the OVER.

In non-conference NFL action where one team is favored by double-digits, the OVER has delivered an 18% return on investment since 2004, albeit in a very limited sample (17-11, 61% cover rate).

This system is 2-0 this season.

Also, the present appears a good spot for high-productivity road teams to exceed the betting total.

Teams playing outside their conference after posting more than four touchdowns per game over their prior three contests have amassed an O/U of 25-17 since 2003, for a return on investment of 16%.

While this latter system is 0-1 this season, the aggregate combination of the output from our simulation routines and the historical precedents, is adequate to sway us toward the OVER for this contest.

Happy betting!!
