Our sim work favors the Pacers to beat the number versus the Knicks this afternoon. We are betting accordingly.
While these teams split the last half dozen head-to-head meetings ATS, Indiana has consistently gotten the job done on their home floor against New York (in the last 12 contests with the Knicks in Indiana, the Pacers are 10-2 against the betting line). Further, the Pacers 9-5 ATS record this season from the position of home favorite suggests Indiana is generally proficient from the current spot.
Flies in the ointment come courtesy of New York's 25-20 overall ATS record (yes, the Knicks have been a much better bet than the Pacers so far this season). Also, New York is 16-6 versus the line after a loss, and 15-10 following a night off. Nonetheless, we expect the Pacers -- with five top-100 players, per ESPN's Real Plus Minus stat, versus just two for New York -- to offer more than the Knicks can handle tonight.
