The Jazz have won their last seven out straight up, inlcuding games on the road Saturday and Tuesday. Moreover, Utah covered in five of those seven contests.
Tonight's action at the New Orleans will represent the third of a four-game road trip for the Jazz.
The Pelicans are coming off a win and cover at Minnesota Monday, but have dropped seven of their last ten straight up, and eight of ten versus the number.
Utah is 7-4 against the New Orleans since 2013, including a 3-1 run at the Pelicans' Smoothie King Center over this timeframe.
We expect the Jazz's strong run to persist through this evening--against the number, at least--as all four independent computer simulation routines in our lineup call for a Jazz cover. In fact, two of these indicators anticipate a Jazz win absolutely (while one approach sees this contest as a draw and the other gives the Pelican's a modest--read: less than two point--advantage). Accordingly, we are quite comfortable backing the the road dogs from this spot.
Per OddsShark, the line opened with the Pelicans in the position of two-point favorites. The number has not moved.
