Atlanta Hawks (-140) @ Detroit Pistons
Two of our three core indicators see Atlanta covering at Detroit this evening. However, all three factors point to the Hawks escaping with the outright win. As such we are betting the better team to win on the moneyline (our preferred Power Rankings approach lists the rising Atlanta Hawks at 7th, while Detroit is 20th).
Both teams enter tonight's contest with significant win streaks on the line: the Pistons pulled out their last seven in a row, while the Hawks streak is up to six. Detroit won only two of the seven wins at home though, and these two victories were against losing teams. Per TeamRankings.com though, home court advantage for the Pistons is -8. so we would not be surprised to see the Pistons lay an egg versus more formidable competition. Nonetheless, we gravitate to the moneyline rather than betting against the spread because we like the buffer between our forecasted outcome and the betting line.
