Dec 13 Early Bird NBA Play: Expect Warriors to Maintain Win Streak

Golden State Warriors (-118) at Dallas Mavericks

We anticipate that the Golden State will eke out a close win to extend their winning streak to 15 consecutive games. They face the Dallas Mavericks as 1 point road favorites this afternoon at American Airlines Center. Our computer-based work calls for a 3-5 point win. We are playing the moneyline rather than the spread though because we don't want to encroach on that cushion.

At 15-6, the Warriors remain perched atop the list of NBA teams ranked by record against the spread. Golden State also owns the best straight-up record in the association (19-2). With a 17-7 overall record though, the Mavs are no slouches. Dallas' high-octane offense averages 110.5 points per contest -- more than any other NBA team (the Warriors rank 3rd by this measure).

However, though Dallas has won 7 of their last 10 games -- and has put up a lot of points in the process -- the opposition has been mostly unremarkable (that stretch included only four teams with winning records, and the Mavs split those games 2-2).

Additionally, at 29 points per game, Dallas allows their opposition to score more points from the long-ball than any other team in the league. This stat seems to play right into the hands of the Splash Brothers, as the Warriors rank 6th in points from behind the arc.

Warirors Center, Andrew Bogut, will not go today, but we nonetheless expect the Warriors will ride Steph Curry and Klay Thompson past Dirk Nowitzski, Monte Ellis and the other Mavericks.

Happy betting!!
