Our approach to our 2015 NCAAB Tournament Round of 64 bracket is rooted in a composite of power rankings, pre-season rankings, team's placement on the S-curve, player injuries and geography. We rely on the work of the talented statisticians at FiveThirtytEight.com to compile and synthesize this data.
Our methodology helped us to identify 12 of 16 straight up winners during the inaugural day of tourney play. We were caught flat-footed by 14 seeds Baylor and UAB beating Georgia State and Iowa State. Also, #6 SMU’s defeat at the hands of UCLA took us by surprise. And finally, we were looking for Texas to upset Butler, however, a late game surge allowed the Bulldogs to pull away from the Longhorns for good.
Our bracket can be viewed here.
For Friday, we are calling for (and betting on) but one upset: look for #9 to Oklahoma State to dispatch Oregon, who rests one rank higher.
Happy betting!!
