Looking for Hornets' slide to continue: Miami Heat -4.5
After getting bounced from the Play-In Tournament last year, the Hornets 28-22 SU record through the first 50 games of the current season represents their best start since at least 2005. However, since that point, Charlotte has won only one of their last nine. Similarly, the Hornets have covered a mere one game of their last eight. History says this negative momentum is likely to persist. Accordingly, we are backing the Heat at the Spectrum Center Thursday.
In NBA play featuring teams that both that saw action after the end of the prior season, fading home dogs that have collected SU/ATS wins in no more than one of their last five has returned a statistically significant 15% profit since the 2005-06 season.
This system is 14-9 versus the number so far this season.
